Medical Capabilities and Training

AeroCare transports medical, surgical, cardiac, trauma, pediatric, neuro and burn patients from emergency scene and rural facilities to tertiary care facilities 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our flight nurses and paramedics use the latest technology and standards of care to transport patients who require advanced procedures.

Medical crewmember qualifications/certifications:

  • Minimum of three years recent and applicable experience
  • ACLS, BLS, and PALS from American Heart Association
  • NRP ( Neonatal Resuscitation Provider ) Certification

Medical crewmember continued education/expectations:

  • Advanced trauma certification within 6 months
  • Advanced provider certification (CFRN or FP-C) within 2 years
  • Monthly flight reviews and Quarterly empiric training
  • Annual recurrent aviation training

Aviation/Pilot Capabilities

No pilot is permitted to act as “pilot in command” until first passing a flight check by a certified FAA check airman and completing aircraft specific factory schooling. In addition, factory trained pilots receive annual training and quarterly quality assurance checks and must pass a detailed physical examination.

Safety is our priority. Our pilots are:

  • FAA approved through FAA check rides
  • Certified by the U.S. Department of Transportation as medically fit
  • Trained to factory standards in specific aircraft type and model annually
  • Instrument, commercial, and multi-engine rated
  • Trained in all meteorological conditions and high proficiency
